SOS Domestic Abuse Projects is the leading charity working with victims of domestic abuse in Southend, with over 40 years’ experience of service delivery. As from 01 April 2019 we will be delivering a single point of access for the whole of Essex, so women, men, young people and children affected by domestic abuse can get access to the right support services for them.
You will be on the frontline of a dynamic 24hr confidential helpline providing support, help, advice by phone, email, text and online, assessing and processing referrals ensuring the flow and accuracy of information meets the standards set. You will have experience of inputting information and working with a range of agencies, together with knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse.
The Helpline Team Lead will work flexibly to support the development and day-to-day cover of the helpline service; this will include weekend, evenings and public holidays on a rota basis. You will have previous experience of leading a team, supporting, mentoring and training volunteers and sound knowledge of supervisory processes.
The role is suitable for experienced managers with knowledge and understanding of the impact of domestic abuse. You will identify and assess the risks to and needs of victims and their families providing emotional and practical support and information in relation to legal options, safeguarding, housing, health and finance. Experience working or volunteering on a helpline would be advantageous.
The applicant must be able to drive a car and have access to a car for work purposes.
Salary: Subject to qualifications and relevant experience- circa £23,398-£24,964 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (8am – 8pm, Monday to Sunday)
Annual Leave: 25 days per annum
